Here at Efficient Steel Solution, we have developed a new production system for the fabrication of steel-based construction panels.
Traditionally, steel construction-panels have been limited to CFS (cold formed steel), and had to be sold on the indirect benefits (lower waste, less time on site etc) because the panels themselves were more expensive than a lumber-based equivalent. ESS now offers a solution to be directly cost competitive as well as all of the indirect benefits.
Efficient Steel Solutions is looking for companies in the panelized construction business to become licensees of the ESS production system.
We would license you all of the components of the ESS production system, under your own business name, including:
- Bid-generation through OnScreen data linkage
- BIM modeling through custom RevIt families with refined costing
- Panel production using custom production equipment
- Production & shipment scheduling
- Full materials specification, Purchase Order generation
- Full access to the library of standard and generated drawings for submittal, shop-use
- Full access to our show-case factory in Austin TX for training, demonstrations etc
Every application is different, every customer and licensee is unique, so creating a standard cost for this bundle would be an oversimplification. Likewise, we do not want to be just another software company with yet another annual subscription fee. Instead, we license our software components as a usage fee (%) applied to the cost/weight of steel processed through the system.
This way, if you end up with down-time over fluctuating customer-demand, you don’t end up with a fixed cost license. The team at licensing@efficientsteel.com will gladly explain in more detail and run you an estimate of what this model would mean in your situation.
ESS sees the production equipment as a means to an end, not a product in itself. We are proud of the design, we think it offers major benefits for the cost, but at the end of the day we are not in the equipment business. The production equipment is sold at a straight cost-plus basis as a one-time sale. If a licensee feels, after review, that there is just not enough “there” to warrant the investment, then they can use their own production equipment with the PEPPCSI system.
